News: Qualcomm's Snapdragon 836 May Be Rolling Out with the Note 8
The leaks and rumors surrounding the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 8 just keep coming. But none have suggested that the new Samsung phone might be powered by a different chipset than the Snapdragon 835, until now.According to a report by China-based IT Home (discovered by SamMobile), the device will possibly be powered by an upgraded Snapdragon 836 SoC. Qualcomm, the developer of the Snapdragon processor, has not commented on whether or not these rumors are true or what the Snapdragon 836 would do, but it wouldn't be out of the question to believe. The company has been known for launching slightly upgraded processors, which is what the 836 would be, as they did with the Snapdragon 821.The rumors are suggesting that the Snapdragon 836 will be in smartphones released around the third and fourth quarter. It is said is to feature a 2.5 GHz octa-core processor as well as a 740 MHz clocked GPU, which isn't a huge difference from the existing Snapdragon 835.
