Step 1: Install HermitTo get this one going, the first thing you'll need to do is install the app, which is called Hermit.Install Hermit for free from the Google Play Store

Step 2: Create Your Own Lite AppNext, simply open Hermit, then tap the floating action button in the bottom-right corner. From here, you've got two options—either enter a website's URL into the bar at the top of the screen, or select from one of the presets available underneath this menu. Regardless of which method you chose, the set-up process will be the same from this point onward. Once you arrive at the website's main page (or the page you want to see when you first open your lite app), use the text input field at the bottom of the screen to give your app a name. Once you've done that, tap "Create," then your new lite app will launch. If needed, you should log into the website at this point.

Step 3: Customize Your Lite AppFrom here, pull out the side navigation menu, then tap "Customize" to make a few tweaks to your new lite app. From here, the Behavior tab offers several interface options, including the ability to add "Pull to refresh" functionality, make the app full screen, and have external links open in your lite app. Beyond that, the "Block Ads" option is enabled by default, and there are a few other options that let you customize the content from website. Next, swipe over to the Themes tab, where you can set custom colors for the status bar and action bar at the top of the screen, or even choose a custom app icon. Then, the Integration tab lets you set up notifications and search functions, so your lite app can behave exactly as a regular app. But when you're done making changes here, be sure to tap the check mark in the top-right corner to save your work.

Step 4: Browse Your Favorite Sites Without Ads or Battery DrainFrom now on, you'll be able to use your lite app like any other. Hermit automatically adds an icon to your home screen for any app you create, so just tap this to get going. The interface for your new app even uses Material Design, though the rest of the app is basically just the mobile version of the website, so it's a native Android experience without all of the battery drain. If you tend to use the app switcher a lot to open recent apps, then all of the apps you accessed months ago are just sitting there cluttering things up. While force-closing all of the recent apps on your iPhone isn't really necessary, it's sometimes nice to wipe the slate clean and empty the app switcher completely to start fresh.Unfortunately, to force-close all apps in the app switcher at the same exact time, your options are very limited. And that's mostly because it's not necessary to do so. Force-closing apps is mostly for quitting unresponsive apps. If all the apps are unresponsive on your iPhone, you have some serious issues going on.All the apps in your app switcher are in standby mode unless the app is currently being used or was recently used. When the apps are in their suspended state, they aren't open or taking up system resources unless "Background App Refresh" is enabled for them, in which case they could silently relaunch on their own for a brief time and check for updates, location status, and other data.Don't Miss: How to Clear Your Recently Closed Tabs List in Safari Removing all of the recent apps from the app switcher has no real impact in terms of battery life and really only has aesthetic value where you want to be able to scan the app switcher quickly for your most used apps. Option 1: Use Jailbreak AppsFirst, if you're using a jailbroken device that has access to Cydia, you can use tweaks such as Purge, Slide2Kill, and Swipe Home, depending on what jailbroken iOS version you're running.As an example, the Swipe Home tweak, which officially supports iOS 6 through iOS 10, is super easy to use. You would just open the app switcher, then swipe up on the home screen card to force-close all of the other apps. However, that doesn't help you much in iOS 11, which removed the home screen card altogether. Swipe Home in action in iOS 10.3.3.

Option 2: Swipe More Than One App AwayUnfortunately, the jailbreak route is the only way you can really force-close all of the apps in the app switcher at the same time. There is no other way to remove all those app cards from appearing in one action. But the next closest thing is force-closing three or four apps simultaneously in groups until they are all gone.One any iPhone running iOS 7 or higher, either from portrait or landscape view, simply double-click the Home button to access the app switcher. Then, instead of using one finger to swipe up one app card away, use three or four fingers on different cards to swipe them up at the same time.If you're using an iPhone X with iOS 11 or higher, you don't have a Home button, so the process is different. Tip: Automate This Process to Swipe Away FasterIf you don't mind swiping them all away in the app switcher, but would like to speed up the process a little bit, you can use AssistiveTouch to do just that. Go to Settings –> General –> Accessibility –> AssistiveTouch –> Create New Gesture. Mimic a three-finger swipe up to close apps in the app switcher, then hit "Save." Open up the app switcher as you normally would, then get ready to swipe apps away as described above.Instead of swiping, touch the AssistiveTouch on-screen button, select "Custom," then tap the gesture's name you made. Tap-and-hold on the screen to drag the three icons into the proper position, then let go, and it will swipe three apps away. Option 3: Clear Up RAM Used by AppsIf app switcher aesthetics isn't your primary objective, you could try the clear RAM trick on your iPhone, which will effectively "close" all apps sucking up precious resources on your iPhone, then enable them to reload automatically if needed.For those of you with a Home button on your iPhone, when in an app or on the home screen, press and hold the Side button until the "Slide to Power Off" screen appears. While this will not remove any apps from the app switcher, it will force them to technically "close," which clears up a lot of random-access memory on your iPhone and make things run a little smoother. Apps that have "Background App Refresh" enabled may reload automatically, as well as some system services, but that's about it. You could also restart or force-restart your iPhone for the same effect.
Will There Ever Be a 'Close All' Button?Probably not. Apple doesn't recommend removing all apps from the multitasking view, so why would they include an option to purge them all? The only option they do include is factory resetting the device, which is a freaking horrible idea if all you want to do is clean up the app switcher. Although someone can discretely peer over your shoulder to see what your password is, it's much more difficult for them to duplicate your face to unlock the device.Unlocking your device with your face isn't a new feature on Android, but it is quicker and smarter on Android's latest operating system, Lollipop. Setting Up Your Trusted FaceThis feature is no longer where it used to be, under the Screen Lock preferences. In order to enable it, though, you will need to set either a PIN, pattern, or password for your lock screen. Just got to Settings -> Security -> Screen Lock to get that taken care of. With a secured lock screen in place, you can now access the Smart Lock option under the Security preferences. Select Smart Lock -> Trusted face and complete the setup that requires some shots of your beautiful face.(If you don't see Smart Lock in your Security settings, go to Security -> Trust Agents and enable Smart Lock, then go back and you should see it.)

Using Your Face to UnlockBecause the operation is so fast and inconspicuous, let's show you how to use it. After completing the setup, lock your device, then simply look at it. You'll initially see the small user icon, and if you did it correctly, it will subtly change to an unlocked padlock icon. Once the unlocked padlock icon is displayed, you can slide up to unlock the device. Otherwise, if it remains locked, simply slide up and enter your password, pattern, or PIN. The process happens near-instantly, so look closely for the change. For me, the beauty of this minimal interface is that it will seamlessly unlock your device when you're checking out notifications on your lock screen. So, by the time you're ready to click a notification to enter the app that produced it, your device is already unlocked and ready to go.

Making Face Recognition More AccurateTo make the unlocking process more accurate, say, for those of you who sometimes have glasses on or sport a seasonal beard, enter the Trusted face options again and select Improve face matching. Allow the device to recognize your face with different angles and lighting, with and without your glasses, with a clean shave and a beard, or any other alternatives you can think of. You can make yours stand out, however, by giving your apps unique and personal icons.While you can indeed litter your home screen with as many app icons as you see fit, you can't change an app's icon itself unless the developer has included that as a feature. Instead, you can create what are called "bookmarks," similar to web shortcuts, whose icon can sport any image you like. These bookmarks can be set to open other apps, so with a little curating, your Facebook, Instagram, and Gmail apps can all appear to have their own, specific icons.The instructions below cover the manual way to do it using an Apple tool on macOS, which is the safest way to do so. To run the iOS 11 beta or use a data-only SIM such as FreedomPop, you need to download a profile that lets you, for example.In our case, we'll use Apple Configurator 2 to create this profile. Once open and signed into your Apple account, click "File" in the menu bar, then "New Profile," or just press Command-N. On the following window, select the "General" tab. Give your new profile a name under Name. You can call this whatever you'd like, but it might be best to name it something related to its purpose (e.g., Custom Icon Pack).Next, fill out the "Identifier" field, which your iPhone uses to determine whether or not this profile is an update to a preexisting profile or something new entirely. Identifiers usually follow a reverse domain address, com.wonderhowto.icon, but as you can see below, our identifier of wonderhowto.com.icon works just fine. You can totally make this up, such as com.stupidname.icon or stupidname.com.icon.Ignore the rest of the options here.

Step 3: Create the Bookmark(s)Once finished here, scroll down the sidebar tab menu to the bottom to find "Web Clips." Select it, then click "Configure." This is where you create your new icons. In the Label field, type in the name of the icon you'd like to create. Ideally, it should match the corresponding app. Next up, URL. This field is looking for the URL scheme name for this bookmark's corresponding app. Unfortunately, this information can be tricky to find for each iOS app, but you can check out our always-updated list of URL scheme names for iOS apps to find the right thing for your app-in-question.Don't Miss: The Always-Updated List of iOS App URL Scheme Names Make sure "Removable" is checked. You don't want that icon frozen on your home screen. Also, check the "Precomposed Icon" box as well as the "Full Screen" box before continuing.Now, the part you've been waiting for — the icon itself. Here, you can choose an image from your Mac to use as this bookmark's icon. Unfortunately, your iPhone is very picky about what images it uses for icons, so you'll need to make sure yours is less than 1.4 MB. You can repeat this process for as many bookmarks as you like by tapping the (+) symbol in the top-right corner of the Web Clip box. You can tap the (–) symbol to delete a bookmark, too, but make sure you tap the symbol corresponding to the bookmark you'd like to delete.

Step 4: Save the ProfileOnce you have created all the bookmarks you'd like, you should save your profile. You can save by going to "File," then "Save" in the menu bar, or just by pressing Command-S. If this is the first time you're saving the profile, your Mac will ask you to select a destination for it. Make sure to keep track of where you save your profile, as you'll need to retrieve it during the next step.

Step 5: Export the ProfileOnce you have created all the bookmarks you'd like, you can export the entire profile to your iPhone for use. Connect your iPhone to your Mac, then "Trust" your computer on your iPhone if it's not already trusted.Don't Miss: How to Untrust Computers Your iPhone Previously Connected To You should see your iPhone load in Apple Configurator 2's main window (you may have to unlock your iPhone to proceed). Double-click on your iPhone's image, then select "Actions" in the menu bar, then "Add" and "Profiles"." Alternatively, you could just click the "Add" button in the toolbar, then click "Profiles." Apple Configurator 2 will then bring up a Finder window. Find and select your custom profile, then tap the Add" button. From here, it's out of your Mac's hands. Turn to your iPhone, which should have automatically loaded up the profile. Tap "Install," then, when prompted, enter your passcode. Tap "Install" again, then tap the red "Install" popup at the bottom of the display. If the profile works, you should see "Done" in the top-right corner of the display. If you receive an error message on your iPhone, however, there's something wrong with the profile and thus cannot be installed. In my experience, if you've checked and your profile follows all the steps above, there's an issue with the image you've selected as your icon. Try using another image and see if the profile takes.

Step 6: Enjoy Your New App IconsIf the profile took, congratulations! You now have a suite of new icons to replace your old, stock ones. How you arrange things is up to you, but it might make sense to round up the real apps into one folder or home screen page to keep things clean. You want to make the original apps as unnoticeable as possible, otherwise what's the point of these custom icons to begin with? If you find that one of your bookmarks does not open the correct app — or anything at all — dive back into the "Web Clips" section of the profile. Many of you probably don't even own a working Genesis anymore, but don't hop on eBay for a used console just yet!Today, I'll be showing you how to play your old-school Sega Genesis games right on your Nexus 7 tablet. ROMs are how the game data was stored in the game cartridge. If you have the right equipment and software, you can make ROM backups of your old Sega Genesis games, but it's much, much easier to just download the ROM files online.However, ROMs are a legal grey area. If you own Sonic for Genesis, you are allowed to download the ROM file for it. It's illegal to download a game you don't already own. Sega Genesis games are no longer a moneymaker for Sega, but that doesn't mean they won't screw you over for downloading games you don't own. Keep this in mind when you're Googling for ROM downloads.Just make sure to have your downloaded ROMs stored in the "GENPlusDroid/roms/" directory on your Nexus 7 tablet.

Whether you're sending a funny cat video to your sister, or letting your coworker know where to go to download relevant files, there are plenty of reasons you might be giving someone a URL.But sometimes, what's behind that URL is sensitive. Maybe it's a link to your personal blog, or a photo album on one of your social media accounts, or maybe you just don't want random strangers knowing what you like to read. Whatever it is, once you send or post it through a public channel, it's out there, and if it's not protected, anyone can access it.If you want to share a link with someone but also have control over who can access it, there are a few services that can help you create temporary secure URLs that "self-destruct" after a certain amount of time or uses.

This Link Will Self DestructThe most secure service, appropriately called This Link Will Self Destruct, lets you create short, medium, or long links with various levels of security. All you have to do is go to the homepage and type in your target URL along with a limit on time and uses, then choose how secure you want it to be. If you assign a password to the link, anyone you share it with will be redirected to TLWSD's website and asked for the password before the destination URL is revealed. Once the time or number of uses is up, anyone who clicks on the link will see this: Password-protected URLs are encrypted, and the longer the link, the more secure it is. With the default volume control on your Samsung Galaxy S3, there are only 15 steps before you reach max volume, making it tough to find that sweet spot.If you're looking for a little more power over your volume, you can use an Xposed mod called XVolume to increase the number of steps you have. Step 1: Download TWRPFirst, download the newest flashable TWRP .zip file from this link onto your computer. These are the PJ75IMG-twrp-2.x.y.zip files towards the bottom. While the images above have newer versions, it's much easier to update later than to install them manually.
Step 2: Rename the FileOpen up your Downloads folder on your computer and rename the file you just downloaded to PJ75IMG.zip. Then, put it on the root (i.e. not inside any folders) of your SD card.You can do this by connecting your EVO 4G LTE to your computer via USB, double-clicking SD card, and copying it from your Downloads folder to the SD card. If the folder doesn't pop up automatically, you can find it in My Computer -> EVO -> SD Card.

In some cases, none of their purchased apps were showing up at all in the Updates tab of the App Store. While the reasons as to this issue may not exactly be known (bug or server overload), there is no clear-cut fix, but there are a few things you can try if you're experiencing this issue.

Try Restoring Your iPhone from iCloudIf you originally restored your device directly from iCloud, you more than likely won't have this issue. iCloud restores everything as it was before, including the applications that you purchased. If you're setting up a new device through the initial setup wizard, you'll probably have the missing app update issue, so try restoring from a iCloud backup to fix it.

Re-Download the Apps from the App Store DirectlyIf your apps don't appear, you can search for those that you previously purchased and download them again.
